Grading group assignments in Canvas

When instructors create new assignments, they indicate whether the assignment is to be submitted by each student individually or by group. If by group, the default grade setting causes the same grade to be given to each group member. However, there are many reasons why an instructor may wish to give a different grade to one group member. Grading individual group members separately requires a three-step process. 1: Go to Grades and score each group’s submission. 2: Return to the assignment settings and check the box for ‘Assign Grades to Each Student Individually.’ 3: Return to Grades and revise scores for specific individuals as needed.
