Responsibilities

As the Patient Relations Intern, I was primarily responsible for coordinating the foundation's programs (1+1=LIFE Mentorship program and Patient Financial Assistance program).I interviewed, screened, and directly communicated with living donors, transplant recipients, and their caregivers/families.I took care of various administrative duties, a variety of projects, and created graphics for the website and our social media.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment was developing a way to streamline our voting process. I partnered with "Asana" to figure out how to facilitate voting on our applications for financial assistance in order to improve efficiency within the organization. This was one of my SMART goals and I am glad I was able to improve this aspect which was an issue for the organization.

What advice would you give?

When looking for/beginning an internship, make it clear to your supervisor what you would like to accomplish during your time there. This allows you to fully grow as an intern and make the most out of your short time there. Especially if the internship is unpaid you want to make sure that you are benefiting, in addition to the organization benefiting from you.
