Responsibilities

Attend weekly meetings, attend online webinars, facilitate/shadow the Child Abuse Prevention Program, assist with car seat checks, shadow nurses, assist with office duties, write articles for the hospital, and aid in program facilitation.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment from my time in the Advocacy and Outreach department was when I was able to facilitate the Child Abuse Prevention Program in schools.

Learning experience

One of the greatest lessons I learned at my internship was being able to work with all different types of people. I also learned how to be flexible and work on multiple public health programs at once.

What advice would you give?

I advise future Public Health students to always be willing to say yes and do things at you're internship. Do not be afraid to advocate for yourself and ask for harder more challenging projects.
