-Work 1-on-1 with personal training clients -Lead group personal training classes -Provide specific and scientifically backed exercise programs to members -Assist with daily operations of the gym at front desk -Keep a clean and organized gym floor area -Partake in Personal Trainer meetings and offer input
Accomplishments
My greatest accomplishment was when I was able to refine my sales techniques and apply them to personal training. Sales had always been something I struggled with, but during my internship I was able to bump make twice as many sales as I did before my internship semester.
What advice would you give?
My advice would be that you should go into your internship semester with a very open mind and willing to learn. I know that sounds basic and cliche, but I learned the most with my time at Ames Fitness because I was able to reflect on myself and ask questions. Always be open to constructive criticism not only from your employer, but from yourself. Always be looking for things you could learn or improve upon. Most importantly though, have fun and give it 100%.
