Responsibilities

I did many different tasks including the intake of youth into shelter care, answer phones of incoming calls into the shelter and direct personnel. I also attended court hearings of youth in shelter and those in the Home Health program, created group coping activities for units within the shelter and helped implement programming and resources for those in the community. I completed data entry for duck adoptions, helped to bring in duck adoptions and organize fundraising opportunities, and helped to complete all necessary task for the upcoming Duck Derby.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment from my internship was the connections that I made. Connections can make or break you in the job-world and through being professional and going above and beyond in my role as an intern I was able to empower my future.

What advice would you give?

My greatest advice is to push yourself outside your comfort zone. Some aspects of your internship may not seem as exciting as others, but those may be the biggest lessons and impacts on your life.
