Accomplishments

During my internship, I was able to gain valuable professional experience within my given career path in the areas of public speaking, event management, and office skills. My greatest accomplishment, however, was being able to reach my goal of recruiting 25 different communities throughout the state to host Live Healthy Iowa Kids Track events for 2024. We recruited the most sites since 2020, and I was able to get my hometown to participate as well.

Learning experience

It's important to choose a profession that you enjoy and are passionate about! You'll never work a day in your life if you love what you do! I also learned that the right team environment makes all the difference in the world. With a great team, you can get things done quickly and efficiently.

What advice would you give?

Ask questions. Organizations love individuals who are attentive, ready to learn, and act like they want to be there. If you are confused about something, more than likely someone else is too. Asking questions builds your confidence in your abilities and lets your employer know that you are engaged and ready to learn.
