Innovate 1858 Spring Pitch Sessions Announced
Ames, Iowa – Innovate 1858 is the College of Human Sciences student-run store that specializes in selling student and alumni-made products as well as products featuring Iowa State’s official tartan.
Each semester, Innovate 1858 hosts Product Pitch Sessions where students can bring their ideas to the marketplace by pitching their products. Selected students will then be able to sell their products in Innovate 1858.
Spring pitch sessions are being held in room 1133 of the Student Innovation Center from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on the following dates:
- Feb. 1 and 15
- March 1 and 22
- April 5 and 26
Each student maker will have ten minutes to pitch their products to a small team of faculty members and graduate students from the Department of Apparel, Events, and Hospitality Management and Innovate 1858 staff members. Students can expect feedback on their pitch and vendor selection within 48 hours.
Interested students should fill out the form below. Then, students should plan to be at room 1133 of the Student Innovation Center the day they’d like to pitch their products to the team. Pitches are on a first-come, first-served basis. Product pitches are open to any Iowa State student. Questions can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Why pitch a Product?
Student makers gain experience pitching their products and, if chosen, will have an opportunity to bring their products to the marketplace. It’s a great way to learn about running your own business, calibrate your supply chain, work with store owners and so many other skills that will benefit students on their journey as a business owner.
