Advisor Assistance
- The main responsibilities of kinesiology academic advisors are to:
- Assist in the student’s intellectual and professional/career development.
- Help the student sharpen decision-making skills.
- Provide guidance in the integration of the student’s academic program with future professional and career goals.
As an advisor assistant, you’ll help each student in the development of an academic program and semester-by-semester plan which not only meets the student’s career objectives but also will meet the requirements to graduate from the chosen curriculum.
Student Responsibility
In this role it is your duty to know and understand the requirements for your degree and to maintain a plan with the advisor to ensure all requirements are completed according to your desired schedule.
Advisor Assignments
Upon entering the department, you will be assigned an advisor who will work with you during your duration in our department. This advisor will assist you with general university policies and procedures and university facilities and services, as well as early career exploration and professional development.
Career/Internship Assistance
Career exploration, career planning, and job search services are also provided through kinesiology advisors. Refer to the careers page for more details.
