About me: Hi everyone! My name is Leah, and some things about me are that I am passionate about sand volleyball-it’s my go-to for fun and fitness! I also teach boxing classes as a fitness instructor here, so if you ever want to blow off some steam, I can show you how to over at Lied:) A fun fact about me is my identical twin sister also goes to ISU, so if you ever spot me on campus, make sure to do a double-take.

Selena Pineda-Martinez

About me: In addition to my major, I am also minoring in Psychology. I love all things sports and I am currently on the women’s club hockey team here at Iowa State. I work at Hilton Coliseum on the production crew as well as in the College of Health and Human Sciences office. I love spending time with my friends and family and my dog back home! My guilty pleasures consist of buying too many books, going to too many concerts, and eating too many sweet treats! I can’t wait to welcome you to the Cyclone family! Roll Clones!!

About me: When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy hanging outside with friends. I would definitely recommend Ledges State Park! I also love being involved on campus. Some of my favorites include Greek life, Dance Marathon, and Pre-Occupational Therapy Club. I can’t wait to meet you all!

About me: I like Raising Cane’s, coffee (especially if it’s cheap), Casey’s breakfast pizza. and working out. Outside of my normal classes, I am an active AFROTC cadet, a member of Alpha Phi Omega, and a lifeguard at Iowa State’s very own State Pool. My best advice for incoming freshman would be to get to know the people around you, it’s important to build a good support system especially when you are in a new environment.

About me: Hello everyone!  I am a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority here at Iowa State! One of my favorite parts about being involved in Greek life has been the fundraising we do for Special Olympics of Iowa during Greek Week. I enjoy traveling, trying new restaurants, reading, and spending time with my family and friends. I love Iowa State with my whole heart, and I have loved being a kinesiology student for the past couple of years!

About me: I am involved in gymnastics club here at Iowa State. I have worked as a lifeguard for almost 6 years and when I’m not working or studying, I love to hang out with my dog, Winnie, hammock around central campus, or go running. My favorite part about being a peer mentor is getting the chance to use my knowledge and experiences to make someone else’s life just a little bit easier.

About me: Hello everyone! One thing about me is I love to travel and explore new things and places. I am minoring in Spanish and would love to work abroad someday. Some of my hobbies include hammocking, running, playing piano, and painting! One of my favorite things I am involved in at ISU is research in Dr. Stegemoller’s Alternative Medicine and Music for Parkinson’s Disease lab. I am so excited to meet and welcome you all to Iowa State!

About me: During my time here at Iowa State I have been involved in the Pre-Physician Assistant Club, CHS Ambassadors, The SHOP, and the ISU Blood Drive. I have also served as an undergraduate research assistant in the Motor Control Research Lab and Cardiovascular Research Lab. I am currently working as a skill development professional with ChildServe. In my free time I enjoy hammocking by Lake Laverne, shopping downtown, and reading. I am really excited to meet you all and work with you through your first semester as a cyclone!

About me: Hello Everyone! My name is Hannah, and I love to hang out with friends, go on hikes, watch movies, and run. I am involved in clubs and research, where I help many wonderful people! I love kinesiology, and my favorite classes I have taken at Iowa State were human physiology and principles of physical fitness and conditioning. I can’t wait to welcome everyone joining the Cyclone family!

About me: Hi! In my free time, I’m typically doing some type of exercise. My go to type of exercise is running! I ran competitively for most of my life, and I’ve recently begun exploring running for fun. I also love dogs and enjoy taking my dogs on walks when I’m back home in Kansas. I love spending time outdoors and traveling. I’m always up for a good adventure! When the weather is nice, you can usually find me sitting in my hammock somewhere around the Ames. At Iowa State, I was on the cross country and track team for two years and have also been involved in research! There are so many opportunities around campus, and I’m excited to help you with your transition to college.

About me: In my free time, I enjoy hammocking around campus, going on walks at different parks near Ames, and attending Iowa State athletic events. I am involved in the Pre-Physician Assistant Club, as well as CHAARG. Something interesting about me is that Organic Chemistry has actually been my favorite class so far. About me: Being from Minnesota I obviously love hockey and I even played until I was 17, and I played lacrosse as well! My favorite place on campus to study is the library on the first floor because you get so much natural light. My favorite class I have taken here at ISU would be human anatomy because I love the subject. Lastly, one interesting fact about me is that I have six siblings!

About me: In my free time I love going on walks with friends or my dogs! I love exploring and traveling. My favorite types include of trip are hiking and exploring new places. I love kinesiology and am part of many of those clubs on campus, as well as a member of the Greek community.  My favorite place to study is outside of Lago when the trees are blooming in the spring. I love Iowa State with my whole heart and can’t wait to meet everyone and show you how cool ISU is.

About me: I am a member of the cross country and track team at Iowa State, and I love distance running. I love exploring local coffee shops, especially in Ames! My passion for kinesiology started in my involvement in many different sports, but I also enjoy the science-based aspect of kinesiology.
